Maningrida, located in Northern Arnhemland, has produced some of Australia's finest Indigenous artists. Many of the images created by the artists depict seasonal bush foods, plant and animal life in the region along with sacred sites and ancestor spirits. Since 1997, Maningrida prints published by Northern Editions have received international interest with exhibitions in Europe, the UK, USA and Asia.
Maningrida artist Susan Marawarr was an artist in residence at Northern Editions in 2003 with an Australia Council grant. 'Veteran' Maningrida printmakers such as multi-award-winning artist Johnny Bulun Bulun have also worked closely with our workshop and collaborator Leon Stainer.
