Rob Brown (Darwin, Northern Territory)

With his characteristic wit, Brown has depicted both ends of Darwin's evolutionary scale in these inventive and lively monochrome prints.
Reminiscent of 17th century copper plate etchings they pay homage to one of Brown’s idols Rembrandt, with their deep black chiaroscuro, irregular scratching marks and experimental quality.

Jacinta Numina-Waugh (Central Australia)

Jacinta Numina-Waugh was born at Stirling Station, Central Australia in 1965. In 1996 she moved to Darwin to commence studying art. Jacinta completed her Associate Degree in Art and Design at Charles Darwin University (CDU) in 2003 and the following year she undertook a six month traineeship with CDUs Northern Editions printmaking studio and gallery.

Jacinta began producing art in the early 1980s at Stirling Station when a number of women elders from the Utopia region started painting. The central themes in her art work relate to her knowledge Anmatyerre (Women’s) Law and of Country as well as her experiences of growing up at Stirling Station.

Six Seasons Suite, a deluxe boxed suite of six etchings was produced in collaboration with printmaker Dian Darmansjah and editioned by Simon White for Northern Editions in collaboration with Indigenart: The Mossenson Galleries in 2005-2006.

Each of the etchings represents one of the six seasons, the annual cycle that guides Nyoongar people in their understanding of their country. Each image is 49 x 34 cm and is a limited edition of 50.
Price $11,000 for the boxed suite of six. Works are not available individually.

Warlayirti Suite by Balgo Artists (Western Australia)

Northern Editions, together with Warlayirti Artists, present the first boxed suite of prints by Balgo artists. The suite of 10 etchings includes senior artists such as Eubena Nampitjin, Elizabeth Nyumi, Helicopter Tjungurrayi, Tjumpo Tjapanangka, as well as Kathleen Paddoon, Fred Tjakamarra, Ningie Nangala and Brandy Tjungurrayi. These striking etchings from Warlayirti Artists reflect the same strength of line and adept use of colour for which the artists are highly renowned and further celebrate these artists' expertise in the printmaking medium. The Warlayirti Suite is an edition of 50 and is beautifully presented in a hand bound box featuring an original Balgo painting set into the cover.

Yulparija Artists (Bidyadanga - Western Australia)

Bidyadanga is located on the coast 250km south of Broome. It is the traditional land of the Karrajarri. This group is now known as the Yulparija Artists of Bidyadanga. The artists collaborated with Northern Editions for a series of stricking screenprints.
