An intensive printmaking workshop held in Alice Springs early this year was the catalyst for a unique intersection of ideas and artistic expression in print, across cultures.
Nexus showcases new etchings and screen prints from celebrated artist Dorothy Napangardi, her daughter Julie Nangala Robinson, Mitjili Napanangka from Central Australia and Rusiate Lali from Fiji. For the latter three artists, it has been their first ventures in the print medium with astounding results.
The opportunity to share and exchange ideas in collaboration with Northern Editions’ printmakers produced an inspiring body of work which spans a depth of style and insight.
