Our experienced team combines the talents of both printers/arts practitioners and curators/arts administrators.

Emma Fowler-Thomason

Emma Fowler-Thomason commenced as Manager of Northern Editions in January 2005. Emma has worked for a number of museums and art galleries including the National Gallery of Australia where she was appointed as the inaugural Gordon Darling Graduate Intern in the Australian Prints and Drawings department. Emma graduated in Art History and Curatorship at the Australian National University and has over 10 years experience working and studying in the arts.


Gertjan Forrer  

Gertjan Forrer commenced as Workshop Manager and Master Printer with Northern Editions in February 2008.  Relocating himself and his family from the Netherlands, Gertjan brings with him 30 years of experience in all print media.

 

For the past six years Gertjan has worked part-time for the prestigious Rijksakademie in Amsterdam whilst simultaneously running his own professional print workshop in Weesp.  Gertjan was literally born into printmaking, learning his craft from his father, the late Jan Forrer, who was a highly-regarded master printer in Europe and worked with notable artists such as Marc Chagall, Alberto Giacometti and Oscar Kokoschka.


Anne Chivas

Anne Chivas commenced as the Assistant Manager of Northern Editions in April 2005. Anne has worked in the Australian Art department at the National Gallery of Australia since 2001 and was appointed as the Gordon Darling Graduate Intern in the Australian Print and Drawings department in 2004. Anne has also studied communication specialising in media at University of Canberra and photography at Canberra Institute of Technology.

   

Jacinta Numina-Waugh

Jacinta Numina-Waugh

Jacinta Numina-Waugh is a full time Editioning Printmaker and has been working at Northern Editions since January 2004. Jacinta completed a six-month printmaking traineeship at Northern Editions after graduating in Visual Arts from Charles Darwin University. Jacinta was born at Stirling Station in Central Australia and has lived in Darwin since 1992. Jacinta's many language skills including her first language, Anmatyerre, as well as English, Kaytej, Alyawarre and Arrente. Jacinta is also an accomplished artist in her own right as a painter and printmaker.


Margie Blackford


Margie Blackford joined Northern Editions as a Gallery Assistant in May 2008.  Margie is a Fine Arts graduate from Flinders University of South Australia. She has operated her own catering business for many years and is now re-discovering her interest in the art community.
